Will the “stonewall the media” strategy of Tea Party candidates backfire on them if elected?

Christine O’Donnell argues that she only wants to focus on local Delaware venues and avoid ALL national interview venues. It appears that Sharron Angle and Rand Paul are also adopting this strategy. Many have argued that the real reason for this is to keep their more extremist views (like ending Social Security and Medicare, withdrawing membership from the UN, repealing civil rights, claiming that one is a “Nazi” if they believe in the separation of church and state, claiming that human activity has no effect on climate change, etc.) of Tea Party candidates out of the mainstream before the November elections. If these candidates are elected, can we expect them to fully voice their positions and allow themselves to be interviewed in national venues as US senators and representatives?
