In the Indian newspaper "The Hindu", do the authors get remuneration if their article is published in "Op-ed"?

Every Sunday, in the paper "The Hindu", there's a section called "Op-ed" (Open Editorial) in which common people share their views. They are asked to submit their articles electronically and also include their address, without which the article won't be considered for publication. Does this mean that they get remuneration for getting their article published? If yes, how much? If no, why not? (It's a national newspaper isn't it?!!!)
