Fallout new Vegas dead money dog/god glitch need help fixing?

well i got new vegas for the pc and i am stuck on the part where i have to bring back the three persons and father Elijah wont recognize that dog/god is there and if i have dog/god as a companion u cant talk to him so this doest let me advance in the game and iv'e tried loading the game from before i went into the place and tried sending dog/god and all of them straight to the fountain and get the same result plz if u can help let me know what to do this is really frustrating
